finiliar update: 13 May 2022

To all our friends!

We have completed a ton of work over the last couple of months. We have a large team working to complete 10,000 3D finiliar models, divided into 10 families representing 10 different coins. What you might not know is that each of those families contains a wide array of characters, accessories, special items, and even, ultimately, distinctive animations. But we are sorry to say that we need more time.

We know you have been waiting, and we are excited to release finiliar into the world

A project like this takes immense presence of the entire team, and we also have to respect the artist’s IRL obligations. After Ed conceptualizes each character and draws every outfit, item, body, and detail, he is then handpicking these 10k incredible finiliar from ~30k prototypes. On top of which, he had and is having multiple art shows this year (including one opening July 27 in LA if you want to meet him personally).

New announcements and timing updates:

A sneak peek of Bitcoin is provided. It was not officially announced until now that these families will have different characters within them! Check it out below.
If you were in the Discord prior to this announcement, you will be assigned the OG role and will have the opportunity to join a simple allowlist. More details coming closer to main sale! We will most likely use premint.xyz or a similar service to register.
We need more time to complete the final touches prior to the main sale. Main sale to take place late June or July.

After the main sale, the eggs will hatch into finiliar animated in an idle (non-dynamic) state. After that, they will be connected to their coins’ oracles and begin to have emotional and physical reactions tied to the prices of those coins. We’ve already made a good start on the animations, but it will take another 2-3 months after the main sale for them to be finished. We hope you will continue with us on this journey!
We will likely need to adjust the mint price slightly upward in ETH terms if the market stays like it is. You can see what a big team we’ve built and how much work it’s taken so far to pull off this project the right way, and we’ll have significant real-world expenses to continue developing it further after the main sale. We want to ensure we’re able to deliver. With that said, we absolutely don’t want to increase the price too far beyond prior expectations. We’ll try to navigate this balance thoughtfully.
